Legacy Plus, Architecture Foundation London

We  have been invited to participate together with 3 other international teams – Stealth.unlimited (www.stealth.ultd.net), EXYZT(www.exyzt.net), Urban Catalyst (www.urbancatalyst.net) and two London respondents- muf (www.muf.co.uk)and East(www.east.uk.com) at the Legacy Plus symposium organised by Architectural Foundation on 2-4 March.  Legacy Plus takes a creative and propositional look at the transition phase of London 2012 Olympic Legacy. (http://www.architecturefoundation.org.uk/programme/2010/legacy-plus) .

aaa together with representatives of muf  art& architecture and Design for London, local artists and ‘creative entrepreneurs’ have visited Hackney Wick. We have been asked to suggest possible temporary uses that will allow that ‘Olympic fringe’ territory to overpass the tsunami of the Olympics. We concluded that temporary use could be a mean to explore  new forms of urban activity (urban agriculture, alternative economies, social networks, ecological cycles etc)  that  despite their temporariness, will hopefuly last enough to empower residents to tacticly use this occasion to improve the living conditions in their neigbourhood.

publication documenting and extending the AF’s symposium  is now available at the AF’s online shop.
