A collaborative project aiming for the creation of temporary infrastructure for urban participation and promotion of local skills through professional and civic networks in Brezoi, a small post-industrial city in Romania. The project was twofold, involving the realisation of a website as a communication tool for the city at a global scale, and the construction of a local information centre, a physical tool to enable exchange and communication at a local scale. A workshop has been held in Brezoi between 2001-2002, involving students from the University of Sheffield, aaa members, local organizations and numerous inhabitants. The construction of the information center became a civic act and activated processes of reclycling of local materials and skills, involving groups of craftmen and temporary unemployed.
The project was awarded the Envers des Ville grant by AFAA and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
